Are you passionate about supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing students? We are seeking a skilled Virtual Sign Language Interpreter to assist in Alaskan schools. This independent contractor role offers the flexibility to work from home while making a significant impact on students educational experiences.


What Youll Do:

  • Real-Time Interpretation: Provide accurate ASL interpretation for virtual classrooms, ensuring students can fully engage in lessons and discussions.
  • Collaboration: Partner with teachers and staff to facilitate clear communication and understanding among students and peers.
  • Adaptability: Adjust interpretation techniques based on subject matter and individual student needs.
  • Professionalism: Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards in all interactions.

Qualifications:

  • Valid certification in ASL interpreting (RID, NAD, or equivalent).
  • Experience in educational settings is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of educational terminology and dynamics.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt to diverse learning environments.
  • Proficient with video conferencing tools.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate ranging from $35 to $45, based on experience.
